Chinese New Year (January 31 to February 6, 2022) is also known as the Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, a traditional festival in China. People will stay away from work and celebrate the Chinese New year with their families. This time of the year is extremely challenging for those dropshipping from China because most of the logistics in China will stop working during the Chinese New Year. And Chinese manufacturers will also stop production and supply early.

So how to ensure sufficient supply and avoid delivery delays during the Chinese New Year are difficult problems that our customers face. Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and this article will give you 3 tips to help you minimize the impact of Chinese New Year on your dropshipping business.

1. Know Supplier’s Holiday Schedule to Buy Inventory in Advance.

We have already announced the Chinese New Year's holiday schedule for our office, warehouse, and major partner shipping companies.

As you can see in the holiday schedule, the holiday time of the Chinese manufacturers is the most uncertain factor. They usually stop production and supply very early. So the first thing you should do is to contact your customer manager to find out the exact holiday time of the manufacturer of the product you are selling to buy inventory for your products in advance.

We don’t charge warehousing fees. Buying inventory can help you ensure that you have sufficient supply during supply chain disruptions. And the processing and shipping times of in-stock products will be faster, ensuring fast delivery.

If unfortunately, the manufacturer of your product has already gone on holiday, you still have the chance to ask your customer manager to find a newly available manufacturer for you. The sooner the better, or you will have to wait until the supply recovery after the holiday.

2. Plan Alternative Shipping Options

There are still some shipping options available during the Chinese New Year. To minimize the impact, you can choose ePacket and CNE as alternative shipping options. Since our warehouse will continue to ship from 4th Feb, you will have more shipping options like Yanwen, USPS, and Yun Express as alternative shipping options to ship out orders as soon as possible. You may have to choose a more expensive shipping method during this period but maintaining customer trust is more important.

3. Keep in Touch with Your Customers

If you change the shipping method, please inform your customers of the change in delivery time. Advance notice will lower their expectations for delivery times. And if there will be delivery delays, or the product is out of stock, the supply is interrupted, you must communicate with customers in time to deal with after-sales issues. A clear refund and return policy will help you gain more customer trust. Our customer managers will respond to your questions whenever they are available during the holidays.

We will do our best to help your business, and we hope you all go well through the stressful time for dropshippers.
